Ideal Makeup Sequence

(steps on how to apply makeup)

You can apply makeup products in any order you are comfortable with but I personally think that the products when applied in a particular order can provide best results and can last longer. So today I am going to share my version of an ideal procedure of applying makeup.

1. Cleanse ( if you already had old makeup on)
2. Tone (Toner will remove any traces of cleanser left and balance the oils on the face)
3. Apply a serum
4. Moisturizer ( oil free if you have oily skin)
5. Face Primer
6. Eyeshadow Primer
7. Eyeshadows (do the eyes first so you can clean up fallout)
8. Color correctors ( peach/salmon under the eyes, green for reddness on the face etc)
9. Concealer ( under they eyes, and on the face where needed)
10. Foundation
11. Pressed Powder to set foundation and concealer
12. contouring
13. Blusher
14. Highlight
15. Lips

WTF Ladies??

wtf ladies?
I just need to vent this out on my blog. Talking to a few girls and seeing statuses posted up on facebook or tweets on twitter, i'm seeing a trend that there are girls on a never ending happiness hunt, nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that their happiness depends solely on one thing.

Finding the right guy.

Vomit!
Don’t they realize that they don’t need someone else to make them feel valuable? You are your own person, your own entity. If you allow other people to put a price tag on you, you’ll never believe that you’re worth more. Or worth anything at all really. Wake up ladies because this is getting ridiculous. We don’t need other people to be great ourselves. Stop asking for permission to be worth something. THERE ARE GREATER THINGS IN LIFE THAN HAVING A BOYFRIEND.

Listen to Eminem and “find that inner strength and just pull that shit out of you” , because I’m sick of listening to you all whine that you aren’t happy. There are PLENTY of reasons for you to be happy. Quit your bitching.

Sincerely, Juliana Maria.

PILLOW TALK!

Pillow Talk is a project aiming to connect long distance lovers. Each person has a pillow for their bed and a chest sensor which they wear to sleep at night. The chest sensor wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one.

I want these so badly.

Seen these before and I’m still in love with the idea. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Follow JulianaMaria43 on Twitter

Glam Inspirations

Inspiration: Alexa Prisco

Hello dolls, Just wanted to post up a couple of my favorite makeup people who inspire me more and more everyday to become an amazing makeup artist and to make the world beautiful one face at a time. One of my biggest fashion/makeup inspirations and role models is Alexa Prisco, The Glam Fairy. I specifically watch Jerseylicious because she is continuously featured on the show, she is also the owner of The Glam Fairy in Hoboken, New Jersey;  I have watched all of her youtube videos, and I am always re-watching her tutorials to work on my technique. I love to learn from the best, and Alexa is truly the best at what she does.

Inspiration: Promise Tamang Phan

Promise is a popular youtube makeup guru (youtube name:dope2111) who transforms herself into different charactersr and celebrities. She is also a self-taught makeup artist (like me). I feel she is by the far the most talented makeup artist on youtube today. My next favorite makeup artist on youtube will go to her sister-in-law Michelle Phan then Marlena (makeupgeektv) and then Kandee Johnson.

Makeup for Mature Eyes

Hello gorgeous readers!

I'd like to start off this blog talking about makeup for mature eyes. Makeup on our eyes can be tricky when we age. When the skin sags and creases, it makes the eyes look smaller and the makeup techniques that were once done, don't really work anymore. It's said that the secret to make the eyes look bigger is eyeliner BUT using eyeliner on mature eyes can actually make mature eyes look older.

Mature women experience sagging due to the natural aging process. The good news is, it can be reversed with just a few makeup tips and a little bit of patience. :)

• First, you'd want to find a  liquid foundation that matches your skin tone the best.

• Next, find a translucent powder.

• Then you will want an eye shadow brush, a small makeup sponge, a small cotton ball, and an eyelash curler. It may sound like a lot, but it will help in lifting mature eyes.

• Now, you'd want an eye shadow color that is a medium color. Something like a light to medium brown or a copper color.

•  Look for an eyeliner that is a light brown color.

• Next, a black/brown colored mascara.

Now let the fun begin!

1. First thing that you will want to do is apply the liquid foundation to your face and importantly, a little dab on the eye area. This will be like a base for your eyeshadow.

2. Now, you will want to take a sponge and dip it in the translucent powder. Take the sponge and apply it from the base of the eye to the top of the eye where the foundation was applied. This helps smooth out the skin in the area of the eye.

3. Next, take the eye pencil and start on the inside of the lid at the top and then you'd want to outline outwards. You should outline the top and bottom of the eye with the pencil. Now the trick is when you get to the outside of the eye, you'd want to kind of draw up the line. This will bring out the appearance that the eyes are lifted.

4. Reapply some eye shadow to increase the effect of lifted mature eyes.

5. Now, take the eyelash curler, and curl up your top eyelashes. Once you do this, let your mascara dry, and then curl them again.

I've added a video from ZESTNOW.com that will visually show you how to give yourself beautiful eyes using just a few products :) ZestNow.com is a beauty site for women 55+. Even if you are under 55 and experiencing droopy eyes and lines around the eyes, this video will definetley show you the steps to take to achieve a more lifted eye illusion.
